Fueling Missouri

For the past three years, the Missouri Schools Boards' Association and Cooperating School Districts have successfully delivered natural gas savings to the largest schools in certain areas of the state. Until now, utility tariffs have prevented more schools from participating. But that has changed, thanksto legislation proposed by MSBA and CSD. A three-year experimental program was passed into law in 2002 that enables small and large schools throughout Missouri to aggregately purchase natural gas.

MSBA/CSD Natural Gas Consortium

The new Natural Gas Consortium is structured similarly to successful school energy aggregation programs in other states. The program gives participating schools the type of the purchasing powers available only to large industry. Natural gas supply bids are solicited from suppliers that are certified by the Missouri Public Service Commission. Bidding is through independent energy consulting firm.

Calculate Your Potential Savings

Simply complete a Membership Participation Agreement and forward it to MSBA. We will take the natural gas usage data that you provide and calculate how much you could have saved over the past year. Using a natural gas energy savings model created by Seminole Energy Service, forecasts can be made which will detail your anticipated savings for the upcoming years.
